Privacy Policy

How boardfootmath.com handles information — what stays in your browser, what third parties may collect, and the choices you have.

Last updated: October 17, 2026

Overview

This privacy policy explains what happens to information when you use boardfootmath.com. In short: the calculators run in your browser, we do not require an account, and we do not ask you for personal details to use the tools.

No advertising is served on the site today. If ads are enabled in the future, some third parties — mainly advertising and analytics providers — may collect limited technical information as described below.

Information you enter into the calculators

The numbers you type into a calculator are processed locally in your browser. They are not sent to our servers, stored in a database, or linked to you.

The site can put your inputs into the page URL so a calculation can be shared as a link. That means if you copy a share link, the board sizes or run lengths you entered are visible in the address itself. Treat a share link the way you would treat any other link you send, and avoid including anything confidential in the optional item or label fields.

Information stored on your device

We use your browser's local storage for a small number of preferences, so the site does not reset every time you reload it.

  • Your light, dark, or system theme preference
  • Nothing else — no account token, no profile, no identifier

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, the hosting and content delivery providers that serve this site may log technical request data. This typically includes your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring page, the page you requested, and the date and time of the request.

This information is used to deliver the site, keep it secure, diagnose errors, and understand aggregate traffic levels. We do not use it to identify individual visitors.

Cookies and advertising

If advertising is enabled, it may be served through third-party networks, including Google AdSense. In that case, third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this site or other websites.

Google's use of advertising cookies would enable it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet. This is commonly called personalized or interest-based advertising.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info, or manage cookies directly in your browser settings. Blocking cookies does not prevent the calculators from working.

If we enable advertising in a region that requires consent, we will ask for consent before setting advertising cookies, and you can change or withdraw that consent at any time.

Analytics

We may use privacy-conscious analytics to understand which pages are useful — for example, page views and general country-level traffic. These reports are aggregated and are not used to build a profile of an individual visitor.

How information is used

  • To operate, secure, and improve the site and its calculators
  • To measure aggregate traffic and page performance
  • To display advertising, if enabled, that keeps the site free
  • To respond to emails you send us
  • To comply with legal obligations

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on legitimate interests for operating and securing the site, consent for advertising cookies where required and if advertising is enabled, and consent or legitimate interests for responding to your messages.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of personal data, to object to processing, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Because the calculators do not send us your inputs, we usually hold no calculator data about you to access or delete. If you have emailed us and want that correspondence removed, write to hello@boardfootmath.com and we will delete it.

Children's privacy

This site is intended for adults and tradespeople and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Some pages may link to supplier sites, manufacturer documentation, or other resources. We do not control those sites, and their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Review them before submitting information.

Data retention and security

Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting. The site is served over HTTPS, and we keep the technical setup deliberately simple to reduce the amount of data that exists at all.

No website can guarantee absolute security. Please avoid sending sensitive information by email.

Changes to this policy

If the site adds a feature that changes how information is handled — for example, a newsletter or a contact form — this policy will be updated before or when that feature goes live. The date at the top of the page shows the latest revision.
